Gisela Clapp, CMT
Massage therapist Gisela Clapp was born in Heidelberg, Germany and grew up in
the lovely rolling hills of the Odenwald. After studying two years at the
University of Heidelberg she traveled for a year through Europe. During that
time she met her wonderful husband, partner and best friend, Jim, who brought
her back to Lake Tahoe, California where they still currently reside.
It was their greatest joy and privilege to raise their three wonderful
children--Johann, Faye and Katrina—in this amazing place. Recently they’ve
become proud grandparents of Johann and Jennifer’s little girl, Alexandra Abiola.
After working for 5 years in a home health service, her interest shifted to
Massage Therapy and self-healing. In the early 90’s, Gisela completed her
massage training and got her certification in Japanese Restoration Massage
Therapy.
Japanese Restoration Massage Therapy—an ancient massage
technique—has provided the perfect frame work to embrace Gisela’s desire to help
others in their own self-awakening. From very early on, Gisela has been
conscious of her own spiritual journey. At 20, she spent time at one of the
first Tibetan meditation centers in the western world (in Scotland), and then
went on to study with a Sufi master in England. Gisela draws a lot of her
knowledge from her love of reading and learning from people like Louise Hay,
Carolyn Myss, Edgar Cayce, José Argüelles and Don Miguel Ruiz—to name a few.

Over the past 15 years in Lake Tahoe, she has been deeply connected to the
practices and wisdom of Native Americans and is friends with very powerful
healers and Shamans. She feels deeply honored to be connected to some very
enlighten people of respected and recognized positions in the spiritual
community—thankfully integrating all knowledge into an ever expanding
understanding of our human journey on this amazing planet.
Gisela shares the vision with many others that Lake Tahoe is a spiritual healing
place. It will become an even greater healing place as more and more indigenous
people come to meditate and perform ceremonies in this sacred place to heal the
earth and all her children.

Other Interests
One of Gisela’s greatest joys is to spend time at the lake with her dog Billy
collecting little gifts of nature and playing her Indian flute. Massage therapy
is a great part of Gisela’s life, but she also likes to express her joy of life
by creating, designing and decorating. She creates miniature scenes of Lake
Tahoe’s nature with her collected treasures that capture the essence of nature
and our connection to it. In the future, you will be able to view her art work
at her other website.
Gisela’s other passions include: cooking, reading, and hosting guests with
husband Jim, dog Billy and cat Mosely in their warm and loving home.
